International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI)

The International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI) links and strengthens the government agencies responsible for public health. The IANPHI improves the world’s health by leveraging the experience and expertise of its member institutes to build robust public health systems.

The European Public Health Association (EUPHA)

The European Public Health Association, or EUPHA in short, is an umbrella organisation for European public health associations and institutes. By supporting its members in improving health in Europe and encouraging the efforts of stakeholders in individual regions and states, national and international organisations, and individual public health professionals, it seeks to improve the health and well-being and narrow the health inequalities of all Europeans.

EuroHealthNet

EuroHealthNet is a central European network of governmental and civil-society institutions and organisations responsible for such issues as public health, health promotion, prevention and health inequalities in the respective countries and regions. The BZgA has been a member of EuroHealthNet since its foundation in 1996 and regularly participates in its committees, working groups, and EU-funded projects.

Mental Health Europe (MHE)

Mental Health Europe (MHE) is the leading independent European nongovernmental network organisation committed to the protection of the rights of persons with psychosocial disabilities, the promotion of positive mental health, the prevention of mental distress, and the improvement of mental healthcare and social inclusion. The MHE initiates various projects and campaigns and organises, for example, the annual European Mental Health Week.

The European Society of Contraception and Reproductive Health (ESC)

The ESC is one of the most important professional societies active collaboratively in both Europe and beyond to champion evidence-based education and research in sexual and reproductive health and rights, including facilitating informed decisions when choosing and using contraception.

International Cooperations

World Health Organization (WHO)

The BZgA bases its fundamental health promotion and prevention objectives on the WHO documents "Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion" and "Jakarta Declaration on Health Promotion for the 21st Century."
The BZgA has been a WHO Collaborating Center for “Sexual and Reproductive Health” since 2003.

EU Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE)

Together with other European countries, the BZgA is working on measures and projects funded by the EU Commission, in particular DG SANTE.

National Public Health Institutes

The BZgA exchanges information and cooperates with public health institutes in various countries. Close partners are, for example, the Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu (RIVM) of The Netherlands, Santé Publique France, Public Health Wales, and Gesundheit Österreich GmbH (GÖG) in Austria.
